THE DRAGON WRITING COMPETITION - OPEN TO ALL AGES !
Closing date May 23rd, see relevent page.

The Norwich Writers' Circle was established in 1943, to serve a growing need for writers and would-be writers in the City of Norwich. Since then it has enjoyed the support of many individuals with varying involvements in the art, craft and hard nosed business of writing. Today our membership is widely dispersed, throughout the region of East Anglia, and beyond.

Meetings are held at the Assembly House, Theatre Street, Norwich at 7.30 pm in the Sexton Room,on the first and third Tuesday of each month. We offer the opportunity to meet other writers, some published, some not, for friendly discussion, problem sharing and manuscript readings. The programme includes in-circle competitions for members, with experienced authors as adjudicators.

We encourage country membership, for those who live too far away to attend meetings. Country members enjoy the same facilities, as full members, and may enter in-circle competitions and send their manuscripts for friendly and constructive criticism at manuscript meetings. They receive notices and newsletters to keep them fully aware of the Circle's progress. They do not have to reside in Norfolk, as our philosophy is to diversify.

We are privileged to have celebrated authors visit, to speak about drama, history, crime, romantic fiction, non-fiction and writing for children. We have been fortunate to have been in contact with agents and freelance publishing editors.Workshops include those for creative writing for the adult and children's market, and for writing drama and poetry.

We have a healthy membership of around 50 members, although some come into the category of 'country' members and pay a reduced fee. We strive to provide writers, both published and intending. with the comradeship and support that such fellowship provides.

WE WELCOME ALL VISITORS, TO ALL MEETINGS.
